March 2026 Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Coburn Free Library March 19, 2026

Present: L. Williams, President, J. Pritchard, Vice-President, M. Fenn, Treasurer, E. Keough, Secretary,

M. Worzel, Executive Director, C. Freitag, Trustee

Excused: D. Woodburn, Trustee, J. Palladino, OACSD Trustee

Approval of February Minutes: L. Williams moved the February minutes to be accepted.

M. Fenn seconded. Approved.

Financial Report: Account balances have been reconciled to statements for February. From Bank Statements as of 2/28/2026:

Director Discretionary Fund $ 4,712.61

Regular Checking $ 220,313.30

Endowment Fund $ 985,220.14

HVAC Checking Acct $ 1,344.71

Director Report: The Community Foundation of Tompkins County grant was awarded for $5500 which will be used for the Summer Reading Program. The Director will begin work on a Brick Pond Adventure BackPack in collaboration with Waterman Nature Center. A seed share event was held in collaboration with the Cornell Cooperative Extension on March 14. 78 people attended.

The first session of Crafty Club is scheduled for March 28.

Old Business: Communication process with construction company and library needs tweaking. The Director is requesting a schedule of events for library personnel so that any delays, closures or other may be anticipated and communicated to patrons and staff. Project completion is estimated for mid April.

New Business: Application for nonprofit prepaid mailing has been submitted. FLLS is starting work on their 5 year plan. A meeting is to be held at the Apalachin Library and is open to staff, directors and trustees from the Tioga County libraries.

The new due date for the Annual Report is April 16, 2026.
