June 2026 Director’s Report
Grant Updates: Currently working in the final reports for both the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation grant and the 2025-2026 Outreach Mini Grant. We received the Senior Citizens Grant from the Community Foundation of South-Central New York in the amount of $500.
Building: HVAC unit and mini split units are functioning splendidly. We have received many comments about how nice and cool it is in the library. We are scheduled to do our backflow water test for Veolia. On 6/17 we received a call from ATIS the 3rd party inspector for our elevator that Schindler was not returning their messages for an annual elevator inspection, and as such we were noncompliant. Schindler then came in on 6/17 to do the annual inspection. I will follow up with Schindler and ATIS to make sure everything is in compliance. We are looking to contact an electrician to do something about the outlet towers that are located under the staff desks. With the changes with the HVAC, one of them is exposed and is a tripping hazard.
Programs: Summer reading planning and set up are in full swing. I will be somewhat short staffed this year so I am thinking about looking for a temporary staff member or a volunteer to help with Summer Reading Programming.
Miscellaneous: We were closed for the Strawberry Festival 6/20. I will be on WEBO 6/23 to talk about the Friends Booksale on 6/26 and 6/27 and our Summer Reading Programming!
