June 2025 Board Meeting Minutes
Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Coburn Free Library June 25, 2026
Present: L. Williams, President, J. Pritchard, Vice-President, E. Keough, Secretary, M. Fenn, Treasurer, C. Freitag, Trustee, M. Worzel, Executive Director
Excused: D. Woodburn, Trustee, J. Palladino, OACSD Trustee
Approval of April and May Minutes: A motion was made by L. Williams to approve the April Board of Trustees minutes as presented, and the May Board of Trustee Minutes as corrected. J. Pritchard seconds and all approve.
Financial Report: Account balances have been reconciled to statements for May. Balances as of 5/31/2026:
Director Discretionary Fund $ 6,012.61
Regular Checking $ 190,282.99
Endowment Fund $1,028,574.47
HVAC Checking Acct $ 162,373.59
Ninety percent of the NYS Construction grant was received.
Director Report: Construction for the HVAC system is complete. The Director is compiling warranty and on-going maintenance requirements for the HVAC system. The Summer Reading Programs are ready to go. The Theme is Unearth a Story. The director is looking for some additional help for the summer reading program. Senior Citizen grant received for $500.
Old Business: The Director is working on the closing paperwork for the HVAC project funding from the state. C. Freitag made a motion regarding the HVAC Fundraising proposal: Move that the Capital Campaign for Coburn Free Library fundraising mailing be in place of our annual fall fundraiser to focus on the HVAC project. J. Pritchard seconded. All approved.
M. Fenn made the following motion: Approve the Community Report as presented and amended from the April meeting. L. Williams seconded. All approved.
Window air conditioners were declared obsolete equipment and removed.
New Business: No new trustee training this month.
Director is working with FLLS to determine any changes to our minimum standard requirements.
The Director will be addressing a planned personnel change at the end of the summer. She will work with FLLS to review requirements, job description, and new requirements.
A Trustee will be absent from in-person meetings from November through April. Need to review our charter for any issues.
The next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees will be on Thursday, July 23 at 10:00.
