July 2026 Director’s Report
Grants/ Funding: Final reports for the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation grant and the 2025-2026 Outreach Mini Grant were submitted. I also submitted our annual funding request letter for Tioga County.
Building: Jeff Smith came to check on the HVAC system on 7/2, and it was discovered that the main unit was not actually in cooling mode. The original installers came back to check on it on 7/13. They believe power outages had confused the computers internal clock to believe it was 2003. After resetting it the cooling has started to work correctly. 7/8 Veolia came to test the water from our taps. 7/15 a construction person came to survey the new unit.
Programs: Summer Reading Programs have been going well. We’ve been having good turnouts at our programs and lots of happy kids and adults!
Miscellaneous: Our phones were starting to stop working, the sound was extremely garbled and calls were dropping most of the time. I ordered new phones and they have been working very well. I posted on our website and social media the opening for the Program Coordinator position. Applications will be due August 1st 2026. I am hoping to do interviews in August and then have someone start by the fall.
