July 2026 Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Coburn Free Library July 23, 2026

Present: L. Williams, President, J. Pritchard, Vice President, M. Fenn, Treasurer, E. Keough, Secretary, M. Worzel, Executive Director, C. Freitag, Trustee, D. Woodburn, Trustee
Excused: J. Palladino, OACSD Trustee
Approval of June Minutes: C. Freitag moved the June minutes to be accepted.
M. Fenn seconded. Approved.
Financial Report: Account balances have been reconciled to statements for June. From Bank Statements as of 6/30/2026:
Director Discretionary Fund $ 6,012.61
Regular Checking $ 157,739.73
Endowment Fund $ 1,027,279.82
HVAC Checking Acct $ 476.01

The Finance Committee noted that the Line of Credit is currently at $89,000 and payments will not commence for 18 months. As we have received the grant money from the state in a timely manner, a motion was made by D. Woodburn of the Financial committee.
Motion: Start monthly payments to the Line of Credit to reduce principal. L. Williams seconds, all approve.
After further discussion the following amendment was made to the motion by D. Woodburn.
Motion: Start monthly payments of $2500 to the Line of Credit to begin reducing principal. C. Freitag seconds, all approve.

Director Report: MFT Foundation grant received and applied to the HVAC project. The position of Program Coordinator is open and at this time 4 applications have been received. It is still open until the end of the month. New phones have been purchased.

The Director has been asked to speak at a FLLS event on the community back packs she has created.

Old Business: HVAC project closure still in process. Awaiting new quote on Fundraiser Mailing.

New Business: D. Woodburn, E. Keough and C. Freitag have signed up for the FLLS Session of Policy Palooza to be held on August 12. We will be evaluating our policy manual to ensure we are meeting state standards.

The next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees: Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 10 AM.
