More information about this grants program\, including eligibility and deadlines\, is available at www.eARTS.org/grants. \nOn Monday\, November 17 from 2-4pm\, stop by the Coburn Free Library to meet Nate Weisenberg\, The ARTS Council’s new Grants Coordinator. These will be informal conversations – no need to make an appointment. On the 4th Thursday of every month at 6:00pm join us to read a story and do a craft. Each month we will feature some of your favorite\, and our favorite children’s authors. Each session will consist of story reading followed by a craft inspired by the author and their stories! This program is for children aged 5-12 but we can adjust the crafts for younger kids if needed!

DESCRIPTION:Saturday November 22nd @ 10:30am. Registration is required. This program is for adults only. \nAre you interested in learning basic embroidery?  The B.C. Stitchers\, the local chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America (EGA)\, can help.  Our Embroidery 101 workshop will teach you the basics: \n\nHow to thread a needle\nHow to use those funny- looking needle threaders\nHow to pick out floss and fabric\nHow to use an embroidery hoop\nHow to find patterns to stitch\nHow to master popular embroidery stitches including back stitch\, stem stitch\, straight stitch\, rice stitch\, lazy daisy and even the French Knot.\n\nYou’ll be provided with a free kit that has all the necessities along with a handout of hints and tips.  At the end of the workshop\, you will have the knowledge and confidence to take on other exciting embroidery projects of your own.
