Why is food poisoning rare?  We can thank a lot of conscientious people for that. Through personal experience working for the USDA and the NYS Dept. of Agriculture and Markets, Dr. Thomas Nitch, will provide an overview of the history of Food Safety, the regulations, enforcement, the agencies involved, public perceptions, the politics that influence the science and some insight into the future.
