Local Author Joanna Higgins presents Fact and Fiction: Writing the Historical Novel

Joanna Higgins will cover areas such as:
- Where do ideas for historical novels come from?
- Researching your idea
- Incorporating research–What is too much? What is not enough?
- Transcending research with imaginative leaps
- Creatively using “found objects”
- Letting emotion be the guide to scene-writing
- Language and the historical novel
- Writing as rewriting–how the writing process can help
She will also read us an excerpt of her newest novel In the Fall They Leave.
